Reflections had another great year, with 35 students participating in the BHS PTSA arts program and a total of 46 entries submitted. The entries were judged locally on Dec. 9, 2009, by a panel of individuals from the community who have credentials in literature, photography and fine arts. The top three entries in each category from both the Belton High School building and Belton Freshman Center will be forwarded to Missouri PTA to be judged at the state level.

The judging results from entries submitted by 10th through 12th grade students are as follows;
Literature: 1st Place, Rebecca White; 2nd Place, Rachael Martin; 3rd Place, Rebecca White; Honorable Mention – Rebecca Cornwell, Leslie-Ann Sall, Michaela Smith, Megan Weaver, Lauren Tinch, Jessica Hill, Brittany Rogoff
Visual Arts: 1st Place, Kelsey Pauley; 2nd Place, Ashton Connely; 3rd Place, Rachael Martin; Honorable Mention – Douglas Harp, Michaela Fast, Kameron Yadon

The state judging results will be announced this spring. All of the students who participated will receive an award in appreciation for their outstanding creativity in Reflections. Look for Reflections artwork to be displayed in both schools in January.
